The current John Keady’s General Motors Superstore was founded by John D. Keady in April 1982 with 29 employees and originally was called John Keady Cadillac-Pontiac.
During the 90’s, Mr. Keady acquired Oldsmobile, Buick, and GMC Truck franchises and launched one of the first “General Motors Superstores” in the country. Today, the dealership employs 84 people and services a customer base of over 25,000. The business is located at the intersection of Interstate 74 and Kimberly Road, on the Davenport-Bettendorf border.
The dealership’s service and parts departments are the only ones open every week night until 9 P.M. in the community, and customers are welcome without appointments.
Mr. Keady credits the tremendous growth to wonderful, long-term employees and a very high percentage of loyal customers.
During the last 5 years, the company launched a separate franchise for Commercial GMC Trucks, servicing contractors, landscapers, plumbers, electricians, and other tradesmen. The dealership inventories commercial cargo vans, full-size Sierra trucks, box vans, flat beds, service bodies, and other commercial applications.
John D. Keady, President and CEO, has served as president of the Bettendorf Chamber of Commerce, Genesis Medical Center Board of Directors, Mercy Hospital Board of Directors, Scott County Empowerment Board, American Cancer Society, Bettendorf Rotary, Davenport Chamber of Commerce, Scott County Family YMCA, Pleasant Valley Schools Foundation Board, and many other community interests.
Mr. Dennis Hendry, a John Keady veteran of 21 years, currently serves as General Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
